Putting On Jesus

From the text of Romans 13:14 (NASB) But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts.
Are you putting Jesus on as in Clothing yourself with him – or – are you “putting Jesus on” as in “Just kidding, I’m not really surrendered to you, Jesus.”
